That's no moon... Wait, no, it's a moon.

In which Our Heroes (?) stop for blaster practice, assuming the kids can stop bothering each other for two minutes, so help me, I will turn this light freighter around and we will not get ice cream.

Oh look, it's Kitty's favorite wookie. She smiles and makes her way over to him, trying not to wonder what things he's seen or heard. She did spend some time hugging and holding hands with Ben in a pretty clear field of vision. It made sense at the time, but now she feels kind of nervous about that sort of display, not knowing who was glancing over and who wasn't. Still, she doesn't think of Chewbacca as the judgmental sort and she has a question for him.

"So, Han mentioned you might be up for bowcaster training too?" She doesn't try saying it in his language because it is seriously rough on the the throat. Also because she doesn't know the word for bowcaster.

Chewbacca doesn't know too much, but he doesn't know nothing. It's not that big a ship, after all, and they haven't been that secretive. He's also, of course, the most frequent sounding board for Han's concerns about how their young wards are getting on - though all of those are in far more general terms.

Regardless, he's not the judgmental sort. And he's taken a liking to Kitty, so he's not giving her grief about it.

Besides, he's totally open to bowcaster training. He raises his gaze and lets out an amicable warble in the affirmative. Step on up, Kitty.

It hasn't been a lot yet. Mostly hugs and hand holding and meaningful looks. But she did tell Han they kissed. Kitty is never really sure how much he tells Chewie. She should really just assume it's everything. But the wookie's response doesn't make her self conscious about it in the least so, she smiles and steps in closer.

"It seems pretty powerful." Not that she wants to go into that a lot because the time she really saw it in action was against Ben and she doubts either of them wants to talk about that.

He doesn't get that much detail. Not that it's any of his business. He's concerned, definitely, about all of them, but that's his primary motivation. Just protecting his ship of little mostly bald people.

Certainly he doesn't want to talk about the time he used it against Ben; and that was carefully controlled, a blast that was intended not to do much harm at all. It was still a lot.

It is indeed powerful, and he responds with as much in his series of vocalizations. It's also very heavy and has a considerable kickback. He stands with it, aims it, and points out the posture, the cocking of the string - his, at least, is automatic, but he still notes how it functions.

And then he fires, the projectile becoming enveloped in energy and the magnetic field of the bow propelling it powerfully forward.

She watches attentively to everything he does and listens carefully to his explanations, making sense of them even over words she's only picking up through context.

"Seems simple enough." Though it would certainly take some skill to use. She has fired crossbows and used bows and arrows before, but really only enough to say she had. It was never something she used in combat and not something she'd used in the last several years at all.

He roars in a general agreement; it is simple from a mechanical standpoint, simply building the dexterity and reflex for it is a challenge.

And then, he inquires whether she wants to give it a shot. Carefully, of course.

He'd be ready to spot her, too, just in case. Not that he necessarily thinks he'll have to.

"Probably the best way to learn." She's been practicing some already but she's used to hard training and combat for that matter so she isn't feeling too worn down by any of that yet. She reaches out to take the weapon so she can get the feel of it in her hands. Her eyes sweep back and forth making sure none of their friends have decided to run toward the shooting area. All clear. She lifts it into place, aiming it. "Like this?"
