Belts, motor, sensors, circuitry, wheels, some basic metal or sturdy, but flexible polymers for the framework. I might also do something with hover tech to replace some of that. Should be quieter that way too.

[Her world was a mix of damaged and dilapidated tech and polished high tech coming from the evil geniuses employed by Apocalypse. Plenty of it was also "borrowed" from alien cultures. The X-Men had "liberated" quite a bit of it, so she had a diverse and skewed background even before Marina where she learned some of their native tech and learned from others like Chekov.]

Don't worry about it. Sensors are more for the perks. I could make it functional without them. And I still need the rest we don't have anyway.

Droid. It's an AA unit — the line just before the BB series, which BB-8 was. She was completely totaled on Takodana. The Resistance mechanic let me take her because he was just going to use her for scrap. But I've checked her core and it should still work. If I can get the right parts, I should be able to bring her back to life.

What does it do? Or what will it do if you get it going?

All kinds of repairs, hyperspace calculations, course-plotting ... A lot of starfighters use astromechs as co-pilots. [Which is the real reason she wanted one, though she's not going to tell Kitty that considering the woman's reaction to their last conversation on the topic of Rey leaving.]

I can't be sure until I boot her up again, but I suspect she's quite a warrior. She's been with the Resistance for over a decade. [With a droid so old, actual replacement parts were extremely difficult to come by, which is why the mechanic had reluctantly decided to scrap her before Rey came along.]

So, basically putting us out of jobs, huh? [Literally checking every box if she means warrior literally. But she's not threatened or jealous this time at least? She sounds amused.] I'll have to figure out how I'm spending all my free time. [As if she doesn't spend it all with Ben.]

[Rey shakes her head.] The Falcon's not set up to have an astromech copilot. I'm not sure what kind of modifications that would even take.

But before we worry about that, I have to find out if I can even get her working. It could all be for naught.

Well, something we could always figure out. It doesn't do that well with just one pilot in an emergency and this would free us up to play more board games together as a group. [She's kidding, but she also might love it? Can she just have a family again, okay?]

[Hey, she had some downtime on Jakku and she wasn't a complete social outcast! She's played ... one, maybe two games in her life. (And that's what she can remember. She's had to forget so much about her life before Jakku just to survive, but it's quite possible that she played lots of games before being abandoned on that planet.)]

Maybe you didn't try a fun one. You definitely didn't try one with me. Also, it doesn't have to be a board game. Just, something. [You may have spent a long time waiting for your family to come back, but Kitty knows hers is gone forever so she just keeps trying to rebuild it with new people. Maybe just as sad.]

I've seen it played a few times. It's a quick way to lose the shirt off your back, I noticed. [Which doesn't mean she's averse to trying it, just sharing her experience.]

Points sounds good to me. [Rey's not exactly taking care of her foot, but she's not going to put excessive strain on it by adding even more chores to her list. (Truth be told, it's mostly that Kitty does the chores Rey really doesn't like doing anyway.)]
